Sisterhood. Scholarship. SERVICE.

Blue Print Conference for Middle and High School Girls

Each year the chapter hosts a conference to create the space for open dialogue between Boston area girls and women of color.  As a day-long conference, girls are given the opportunity to connect with each other and learn about goal setting, self-esteem, and sisterhood.

AIDS Walk Boston & Komen Race for the Cure

Each year a team of Spelman alumnae in the Boston area participate in AIDS Walk Boston & Race for the Cure.

Mentoring

The chapter has worked with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Massachusetts as monthly mentors for girls waitlisted for Big Sisters.  We also led a poetry apprenticeship for middle school girls with Citizen Schools.  Currently, the chapter is building an online mentoring group to build upon discussions from the Blueprint Conference for Girls.
