Make a Family's Dream Come True this Holiday!
Program Mission:
Through gift donations, the Adopt-a-Family Program was developed to provide support to a Boston area family in need during the holidays. The family is asked to submit a holiday wish list of their wants and needs. Members and Friends of the Spelman College Boston Area Alumnae Chapter come together to fulfill the family's wish by purchasing items from the list or making a financial contribution to be used towards gift purchases.

This Year's Family:
A staff member at a local high school received an anonymous letter informing members of the staff about a family in need. The letter referenced a father who has been in and out of jail and a mother who, despite her best efforts, has difficulty maintaining a job due to her disability (the mother is deaf). The mother was just starting a new job when the letter was written.
There family has two boys - Highschooler (15 years old - 10th Grade) He is very smart and well-liked by his peers and teachers. A younger brother 12 years old and in the 7th grade. The following list includes items that have not been purchased.
