The National Alumnae Association of Spelman
College (NAASC) is the official organization that supports Spelman College, a historically black
college for women, through financial gifts, student recruitment, sisterhood, community service and recognition of Spelman women.

The Boston Area chapter was revitalized in 2006
to meet the needs of Spelman College alumnae
in the Boston area. The chapter sponsors events,
works with the community and serves as a representative of Spelman College within the
Boston area. The chapter is committed to
informing prospective students and families, as
well as the greater community about Spelman
College and its benefits.

Chapter committees include:
Fundraising, Events, Online Communications,
Membership and more.

Selected Committee Information
Fundraising Committee

The fundraising committee raises money to support the chapter’s mission of building a scholarship fund. Our goal is to offer financial assistance to Spelman women in the Boston area- through book scholarships, emergency assistance, and eventually an endowed scholarship at Spelman. Some of the chapter plans for fundraising this year are charter bus trips, social events/parties, donations, etc. Suggestions for fundraising events are much appreciated!

Membership Committee

The membership committee will be in charge of designing membership incentives as well as membership drives throughout the year. As a member of this committee, each member will be assigned one incentive to track as well as be asked to think of creative ways to entice new members.
